Chính phủ Cam Bốt yêu cầu chư Tăng giáo dục quần chúng về bệnh cúm gà.

Nam Vang, Aug 10, 2006 -Cam Bốt đã nhận được sự trợ giúp của chư tăng và giáo chức trong việc ngăn chận một đợt bộc phát mới của bệnh cúm gà.
Hãng thông tấn AFP tường trình lời một viên chức chính quyền nói rằng chư tăng Phật Giáo giữ một vai trò quan trọng trong việc giúp đỡ ngăn chận cúm gà bằng cách giáo dục cho quần chúng hiểu rõ sự nguy hiểm của nó.
Ông nói dân chúng Cam Bốt kính nể chư tăng hơn hết và sẽ tuân hành những khuyến cáo của chư Tăng.
Cơ quan UNICEF nói rằng một loạt khóa hướng dẫn sẽ được tổ chức trong tháng này cho chư tăng và thành viên các ngôi chùa tại một số trong số hơn 2,500 ngôi chùa thuộc 11 tỉnh trong nước.
Các khóa hướng dẫn phòng ngừa cúm gà trong trường học cũng đang được xúc tiến. Ðã có 6 người Cam Bốt bị tử vong bởi vi khuẩn chết người H5N1 và vương quốc xứ chùa tháp đang ở trong tình trạng báo động đỏ sau khi một vài trường hợp mới mẻ được phát giác ở các qước gia lân cận như Lào và Thái Lan.

Cambodia has enlisted the help of Buddhist monks and teachers to try to prevent a fresh outbreak of bird flu.
AFP newsagency reports a government official as saying Buddhist monks play an important role in helping to prevent bird flu by educating people about its danger.
He says Cambodian people respect monks the most and will follow their advice.
UNICEF says a series of workshops will be held this month for monks and pagoda members at some two and a half thousand pagodas in 11 provinces around the country.
Bird flu prevention workshops in schools are also being stepped up.
Six Cambodians have been killed by the deadly H5N1 virus and the kingdom is on high alert after new cases were discovered in neighbouring Laos and Thailand last month.

Beijing, July-28-2006- Chùa Thiếu Lâm sẽ gửi vị trụ trì Thiếu Lâm hải ngọai với những phương thuốc đông dược cổ truyền 700 năm tuổi và võ thuật chân chánh Thiếu Lâm đến Ðại Học Y Dược Truyền Thống địa phương Hà Nam để trao đổi trong ngành y học, một tờ nhật báo thương mại Hà Nam cho biết như trên.
Ngôi chùa, thuộc vùng trung bộ tỉnh Hà Nam Trung Hoa, đã ký kết một hợp đồng với trường Ðại học Y Dược truyền thống Hà Nam. Trường Ðại Học chấp thuận cho viện chủ trì hải ngoại của ngôi chùa được ghi danh, và để đáp lại, chùa sẽ công bố những phương thuốc bí truyền của chùa Thiếu Lâm cho mục đích giảng dạy. Tờ Nhật Báo Thương Mại Hà Nam tường trình như trên.
“Chúng tôi rất thích thú khi nhìn thấy sự phối hợp của những phương thuốc bí truyền chùa Thiếu Lâm với khoa học và kỹ thuật,” HT Thích Tín Ðạt, trụ trì của ngôi chùa nói như trên.
Thiền, Võ thuật và Y Học Truyền Thống ( Traditional Chinese Medicine viết tắt TCM) là ba thành phần chính của văn hóa Thiếu Lâm Tư, HT Thích Tín Ðạt nói.
Nhà sư cũng tiết lộ hai đơn thuốc nổi tiếng cho nhà báo, các phương thuốc thường được dùng trong tiểu thuyết võ thuật Trung Quốc.
“Chúng tôi hy vọng sự công bố những phương thuốc truyền thống cuả chúng tôi sẽ giúp cho việc đưa chúng vào hệ thống y học truyền thống hiện đại được thành công hơn,” Ông nói.
Thành lập khoảng 1,500 năm trước, Thiếu Lâm nổi tiếng qua việc phối hợp võ thuật và Thiền Phật Gíao, chú trọng vào việc thiền định lâu năm để thanh tịnh tâm ý.

Beijing,July-28-2006- Shaolin Temple will present its overseas abbot with 700-year-old traditional Chinese secret medicine recipes and authentic Shaolin Kong Fu during their studies in a local traditional Chinese medicine college, a Henan-based business daily said today. The temple, in central China's Henan Province, signed a cooperation contract with the Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine yesterday. The college has agreed to enroll the overseas abbot of the temple, and in return, the temple will publicize its secret recipes to the college for educational use, Henan Business Daily said.
"We'd love to see the amalgamation of our traditional Chinese medicine with modern science and technology," said Monk Shiyong Xinda, the temple's Buddhist Abbot.
Zen Buddhism, Kong Fu and TCM are the three main parts of Shaolin culture, said Monk Shiyong Xinda.
Monk Shiyong Xinda also revealed two popular Shaolin recipes to the newspaper, which are often used in Chinese Kong Fu novels, including Huan Hun Tang and Da Li Jin Gang Wan.
"We hope the publicity of our secret recipes will help bring them into official administration systems of modern TCM," he said.
Established some 1,500 years ago, Shaolin is renowned for combining martial arts and Zen Buddhism, which features long meditation sessions to clarify the mind.
