Hội Nghị Phật Giáo Tòan Cầu lần Thứ Tư

Perth- Tây Úc- Hội nghị Phật Giáo toàn cầu lần thứ Tư với chủ đề “Phật Giáo: Ðối phó với những vấn đề xã hội- Xây dựng một Thế Giới tốt đẹp hơn”sẽ diễn ra vào ngày 10 và 11 tháng Sáu, năm 2006 tại Hội Trường của Trung Tâm Triển Lãm Perth, Tây Úc.
Ðây là một hội nghị quốc tế nhóm họp mỗi hai năm một lần với sự góp mặt của đại diện tất cả các truyền thống Phật Giáo, hội nghị kỳ thứ Tư này do Hội Phật Giáo Tây Úc đứng ra tổ chức dưới sự chủ trì Sư Ajahn Brahm. Mục đích của nghị hội nhằm cung ứng một diễn đàn thống nhất, nơi các Phật tử xuất sắc từ nhiều truyền thống khác nhau có thể trình bày quan điểm của mình đối với những đề tài thảo luận.
Hội nghị năm 2006 sẽ tụ họp một nhóm tu sĩ khả kính và nhiều diễn giả đến từ Tích Lan, Thái Lan, Úc Châu, Tân Gia Ba, Ðại hàn và Hoa Kỳ. Quan khách được mời sẽ thảo luận về 6 đề tài phụ của hội nghị nhằm triển khai một hướng đi chung trong việc tạo dựng một thế giới tốt đẹp hơn với những kinh nghiệm, ý kiến và những phân tích đa dạng. Hội nghị này có sự góp mặt chính thức của nhiều diễn giả danh tiếng trong tất cả các truyền thống các như Ngài Ajahn Brahm, Ni Sư Dhammananda, Nữ Tiến Sĩ Phật Học đầu tiên tại Thái Lan , Ni Sư YiFa, Thầy Hằng Thiệt, Ajahn Sujato, Công Chúa BhuTan Dechan Wangchuk, Dr.Karma Lekshe Tsomo ,Ven. The Global Conference on Buddhism is a groundbreaking, international biennial event with an impressive list of speakers representing all the major traditions of Buddhism.The aim of the series of Global Conferences on Buddhism (GCB) is to provide a unique forum where prominent Buddhists from the various traditions can present their answers to controversial questions of wide interest to Buddhists. The contributors will then face the response of a well-informed audience. The probing discussion, looked at from many different angles, has, at the past GCBs, led to stimulating, entertaining and productive dialogue that deepens the understanding of all the participants. It is Buddhism vigorously, yet harmoniously, exploring the Dharma beyond the walls of its temples and monasteries.The 4th Global Conference on Buddhism will be held inthe Perth Convention Exhibition Centre on the 10th and 11th of June 2006. The theme of the Conference is “Buddhism: Confronting the Controversies – to Create a Better World".
This conference will present a range of responses, analysis and solutions to some of the BIG issues – from a uniquely Buddhist perspective
The path to happiness and enlightenment laid out by the Buddha has been followed for over two and a half millennia, mostly in the countries of East Asia but more recently increasingly in the West. Do these simple and profound teachings with their values of peace, simplicity, contentment, tolerance, virtue and generosity continue to have relevance in the modern world? How do Buddhists, regardless of where they live, respond to the complex issues facing them today?
We invite you to join us for two days in the beautiful city of Perth, Western Australia, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the key questions and controversies facing Buddhism globally and to share your personal experiences and ideas on Buddhism with others from around the world!
