Nghi lễ kết thúc mùa an cư kiết hạ ở Thái Lan

Bangkok - Đối với những ai thích tìm hiểu về văn hóa Phật giáo ở Thái-lan, thì phải biết đến nghi lễ “Tak Bat Devo”, đó là một nghi lễ đánh dấu sự kết thúc mùa an cư kiết hạ của Phật giáo ở Thái-lan, và sẽ được đón mừng trên toàn quốc trong 2 ngày 18 và 19 tháng 10. Nơi tốt nhất để tham gia buổi lễ là Chùa Sangkhat Rattana Khiri in Uthai Thani.
Để đón mừng ngày lễ này, sẽ có một buổi trình diễn về nghệ thuật ánh sáng và âm thanh vào buổi chiều hôm 18 tháng 10. Ngày hôm sau sẽ có 500 vị tăng tụ họp ở một ngôi chùa nằm trên đồi vào lúc 8:30 sáng để nhận một số thực phẩm cúng dường bao gồm đồ khô, gạo, và thức ăn tráng miệng. Sau đó chư tăng sẽ cất bước xuống bậc thang của chùa để ban phước cho những Phật tử tham gia buổi lễ.
Nghi lễ được tổ chức theo sự trích dẫn từ trong truyền thuyết Phật giáo khi mà Đức Phật rời khỏi cõi trời để cho chúng sinh có cơ hội tạo phước.
Rites to mark end of lent period

For those interested in Buddhist culture, the "Tak Bat Devo" rites marking the end of the Buddhist Lent on October 18-19 will be celebrated throughout Thailand. The best place to observe the occasion is Wat Sangkhat Rattana Khiri in Uthai Thani.
Heralding the merit-making will be a light and sound show on the evening of October 18. The next day 500 monks will gather at the hilltop temple at 8:30am to receive alms comprising dried food, uncooked rice and desserts, after which they will walk down the temple stairs to bless temple-goers.
The ritual replicates an episode from Buddhist mythology in which Lord Buddha descends from heaven to allow his followers to make merit.
