Ngày lễ Tam Hợp Vesak lịch sử được công nhận tại Sydney

Sydney, Úc Châu – Lần đầu tiên trong lịch sử ở Úc Châu, ngày lễ Tam Hợp Vesak (kỷ niệm ngày Bồ tát Đản sanh, ngày Bồ tát Thành đạo, và ngày Đức Phật Niết bàn cùng một ngày) còn gọi là Visakhabucha sẽ được chính quyền Tiểu bang New South Wales công nhận. Một cuộc triển lãm miêu tả lịch sử của Đức Phật Thích Ca và hoạt động của các tổ chức Phật Giáo và các chùa trong ba truyền thống của Phật Giáo sẽ được tổ chức tại Fountain Court trong phòng khánh tiết của Tòa Nghị Viện New South Wales từ ngày 23 đến ngày 27 tháng Năm, 2005.

Hiện nay, 2% dân số Úc Châu tuyên bố Phật Giáo là tôn giáo của họ. Thống đốc New South Wales, Thống đốc Phu nhân Giáo sư Marie Bashir AC, và Thủ tướng New South Wales Ông Bob Carr sẽ chính thức mở ngày hội vào ngày thứ Tư, 25 tháng Năm.

Vào ngày thứ Bảy, 28 tháng Năm, tại Sảnh đường Bankstown Town, lễ kỷ niệm sẽ được tiếp tục với một buổi thuyết pháp của Thiền Sư Ajahn Brahmavamso, vị Trú trì Thiền viện Bodhinyana Forest ở Tây Úc, và đề cao những cuộc trình diễn văn hóa từ những người Úc gốc Á Châu cũng như các cuộc triển lãm về hội họa và trưng bày các hoạt động của Phật Giáo trong tiểu bang New South Wales.

Phật Giáo là tôn giáo đang phát triển mạnh nhất ở Úc Châu và cuộc lễ kỷ niệm quan trọng này sẽ góp phần vào sự lớn mạnh không ngừng của Phật Giáo tại đây.

Creating Vesak history in Sydney

Sydney, Australia - For the first time in the history of Australia, Vesak will receive recognition by the Government of New South Wales. An exhibition depicting the life of the Buddha and activities of Buddhist organisations and temples of the three major traditions of Buddhism will be staged in the Fountain Court in the foyer of the New South Wales Parliament House from 23-27 May.

Currently, 2% of the Australian population now claim Buddhism as their preferred religious faith. The Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC, and the Premier of New South Wales, the Honorable Bob Carr, will officially open the exhibition on Wednesday, 25th of May.

On Saturday, 28th of May, at the Bankstown Town Hall, the celebrations will continue with a Dhamma talk by Venerable Ajahn Brahmavamso, Abbot of Bodhinyana Forest Monastery in Western Australia, and will feature cultural performances from Australians of Asian background as well as exhibitions of paintings and displays of Buddhist activities in the State of New South Wales.

Thánh tích Phật, Ấn, Hồi giáo đang được bảo tồn tại Pakistan.

RAWALPINDI (Pakistan)- Pakistan đang tiến hành những bước cần thiết để bảo tồn những khu thánh địa của Phật Giáo, Ấn Giáo, đạo Sikh và những tôn giáo khác đồng thời cải thiện tiện nghi thoải mái hơn cho tín đồ, những người đã tụ tập về đây từ khắp nơi trên thế giới.

Kế hoạch này được Bộ Trưởng Liên bang Bộ Du Lịch Dr. G.G. Jamal tuyên bố trong buổi diễn văn bế mạc lễ hội Tuần Lễ Gandhara tại RAWALPINDI ngày thứ bảy vừa qua.

Tuần Lễ Gandhara được tổ chức lần đầu tiên bởi Bộ Du Lịch có sự tham dự của ông Tổng thư ký Liên bang Bộ Du Lịch Salim Gul Shaikh.
Ông Bộ trưởng nói rằng chính phủ Pakistan sẽ nâng đỡ tối đa những dự án đại diện cho bộ mặt thực của Pakistan đối với thế giới.

“Quốc gia chúng tôi bị hiểu lầm quá nhiều”. Ông nhấn mạnh thêm rằng Hồi giáo tượng trưng cho hòa bình. Hồi giáo dạy tôn trọng nhân bản và nhân loại. Dr. G.G. Jamal nói rằng chính phủ sẽ cải thiện đường xá, khách sạn, không chỉ riêng ở thung lũng Swat thuộc mạn Bắc mà còn ở những khu vực khác để khuyến khích du khách.

Pakistant là một trong những thành trì với nền văn minh nổi tiếng nhất trên thế giới, kể cả Gandhara và Văn Minh Thung Lũng Indus. Bộ Du Lịch cũng dự trù tổ chức một Tuần Lễ Indus Valley trong tháng 11/12 năm 2005. “Mục đích của chúng tôi là phát triển khu vực Gandhara và Viện Bảo Tàng”. Ông Bộ trưởng cho hay như vậy.

Đã có 122 đoàn đại biểu từ Nhật, Trung Quốc, Tích Lan, Mã Lai, Thái Lan, Âu Châu và Hoa Kỳ đã tham dự lễ hội này. Các đoàn đại biểu trong bài diễn văn ngắn trước đó đã cảm tạ Bộ Du Lịch đã an bài mọi thứ tuyệt vời trong suốt tuần lễ.

Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu sacred sites being preserved in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI (Pakistan) ── Pakistan has taken all necessary steps to preserve the Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu and other religious sites and made them comfortable for the devotees who throng here from across the world.

This was stated by the Federal Minister for Tourism Dr. G.G. Jamal, while speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Gandhara week here on Saturday.

The Gandhara week was organised by the Ministry of Tourism for the first time and the ceremony was also attended by the Federal Secretary Tourism, Salim Gul Shaikh.

The Minister said that Government of Pakistan would extend maximum support to all projects which present the real face of Pakistan to the world.

"We are a much misunderstood country", he remarked adding that Islam stands for peace. Islam preaches for the respect for the humanity and the human beings.

Swat Valley

Dr. G.G. Jamal said that the government would improve the roads, hotels and motels, not only in the Swat Valley, Northern areas but in other areas for the promotion of the tourism.

Pakistan is the citadel of some of world's best known civilisations, including Gandhara and Indus Valley civilisations. The Ministry of tourism also intends to organise an Indus Valley week during November/December 2005, the Minister said.

Our aim is to develop Gandhara sites and Museums, said the Minister.

As many as 122 delegates from Japan, China, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Europe and United States attended the celebrations.

Earlier the foreign delegates in their brief speeches thanked the Ministry of Tourism for making excellent arrangements during the week.
