Nhiều người Tây Tạng kêu gọi ngừng tuyệt thực

Dharmamshala, ngày 26 tháng 1. Nhiều người Tây Tạng lưu vong tại Ấn Ðộ đã yêu cầu trả tự do cho vị tu sĩ Tulku Tenzin Delek. Một nguồn tin không chính thức nói rằng chính phủ cộng sản Trung Hoa đã thay thế bản tử hi`nh Ngài Delek thành bản án tu`chung thân, sau khi thời hạn cho toà án xét lại bản án ngày 25 tháng 1. Sau khi bản án tử hi`nh được sửa đổi, tổ chức Thanh Niên Tây Tạng đã chấm dứt tuyệt thực, tuy nhiên họ vẫn tiếp tục tranh đấu đo`i hỏi chính phủ cộng sản Trung Hoa thả tự do cho Ngài Delek.

Ông Kalsang Phunstok, chủ tịch tổ chức Thanh Niên Tây Tạng nói rằng: "từ ngày 2 tháng 12 đến ngày 25 tháng 1, 2005 chính phủ Trung Hoa sẽ có quyết định về việc thả Ngài Tenzing Delek, nhưng nhà cầm quyền Trung Hoa đã không lên tiếng gì về việc này. Ngoài việc mà moi người bình thường đều co’ thể biết được rằng bản án tử hi`nh sẽ được giảm xuống. Nhiều nguời đã tuyệt thực, toàn thế giới đang trông chờ chính phủ cộng sản Trung Hoa thả tự do cho Ngài Delek. Một người khách du lịch từ Spain đã nói như vậy.
Toà án cộng sản Trung Hoa năm 2002 đã kết án tử hi`nh Ngài Delek và một người tu sĩ khác là Lobsang Dhondup về tội cho nổ bom tại miền tây nam, với tội danh là tích trữ vũ khí bất hợp pháp và sách động đo`i độc lập cho Tây Tạng. Dhondup đã bị treo cổ trong tháng 1 năm 2003, nhưng bản án tử hi`nh của Ngài Delek thi` kéo dài trong hai năm. Những người Tây Tạng lưu vong nói rằng chính phủ cộng sản Trung Hoa đã không cho xét sử công bằng Ngài Delek.

Tibetan parliamentarians-in-exile in India on Wednesday demanded the unconditional release of Buddhist monk Tulku Tenzin Delek. Unconfirmed reports said that Chinese authorities have commuted Delek's death sentence to life imprisonment, after the deadline for a review of the sentence expired on January 25. Activists of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) called off their two-month relay hunger strike here following the commutation of his death sentence, but however, vowed to continue to press for his unconditional release. "From December 2nd to January 25th, 2005 China will make official decisions about the release of Tenzing Delek but unfortunately I must say that officially there has been no official announcement. Besides some semi-official version, normal people expectations (are) about the waving of death sentence," said Kalsang Phunstok, president of the TYC. Foreigners also sympathized with the Tibetans struggle. "People had been on a hunger strike. I hope the whole world will pressurise the Chinese government to release this man," said Alanso, a tourist from Spain. A Chinese court in 2002 had sentenced Delek and another monk Lobsang Dhondup to death on charges of detonating bombs in the southwest of the country, for illegally possessing arms and for promoting Tibetan independence. Dhondup was hanged in January 2003 but Delek's death sentence was suspended for two years. The Tibetans-in-exile say the Chinese government had not given a fair trial to Delek. (ANI)
