Công ty Optimum Home Entertainment vừa thông báo cuốn phim Litle Buddha sẽ được phát hành ra dạng DVD ở Anh Quốc ( UK: United Kingdom) vào 03 tháng 07 2006 t ới đ ây với giá 12.99 đồng bảng Anh .
Cuốn phim Little Buddha đánh dấu sự trở lại phương đông lần đầu của nhà sản xuất/ nhóm đạo diễn Jermy Thomas(Sexy Beast,Fast Food Nation) và Bernardo Bertolucci ( The Dreamers,Last Tango in Paris) từ khi phim The Last Emperor trúng giải thưởng Oscar.
Những địa phương được thu hình bao gồm thung lũng Kathmandu , Terrai của Nepal và miền núi non tĩnh mịch Bhutan, tất cả mang lại sự sống động cho đời sống trong phim do nhà điện ảnh nổi tiếng Vittorio Storaro với các bộ phim từng đoạt giải Oscar (Apocalypse Now, The Last Emperor).Little Buddha được nghiên cứu thật rộng rãi và tỉ mỉ kỹ lưỡng và đã được Đức Đạt Lai Lạt Ma chúc tụng phúc lành.
Little Buddha kể câu chuyệ một ngôi làng nhỏ có một cậu bé và một ông lão. Một hôm một nhóm Tăng đoàn dừng chân ở ngưởng cửa của Dean((Chris Isaak, Silence of the Lambs)và Lisa((Bridget Fonda, Jackie Brown, Single White Female) để báo tin cho họ biết họ rõ về thiếu niên 8 tuổi con trai của họ, Jesse, là hậu thân của một trong số những vị lạt ma đáng tôn kính nhất của họ. Jesse, cùng với cha của cậu, được cho một cơ hội tháp tùng Tăng Đoàn trong một hành trình phi thuờng. Họ không chỉ du hành đến nhiều nước lớn trên thế giới mà còn đi ngược thời gian 2500 năm trở lại thời kỳ bình minh của Phật Giáo.

Little Buddha là một ngụ ngôn cho đứa trẻ trong tất cả chúng ta , và nó mở ra một cửa sổ hướng về Phươg Tây cho một kinh nghiệm thống nhất của Phật Giáo.

Optimum Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Little Buddha for 3rd July 2006 priced at £12.99. Little Buddha marked the first return to the East of producer/director team Jeremy Thomas (Sexy Beast, Fast Food Nation) and Bernardo Bertolucci (The Dreamers, Last Tango in Paris) since their Oscar-winning epic The Last Emperor. The breathtaking locations for the film included the Kathmandu Valley, the Terrai lowlands of Nepal and the remote mountain kingdom of Bhutan, all brought vividly to life on film by Oscar-winning cinematographer Vittorio Storaro (Apocalypse Now, The Last Emperor). Little Buddha was extensively and meticulously researched, receiving the blessing of his holiness the Dalai Lama.
Little Buddha tells the story of a small town American boy and an old, old man. One day a deputation of Buddhist monks arrives on the doorstep of Dean (Chris Isaak, Silence of the Lambs) and Lisa (Bridget Fonda, Jackie Brown, Single White Female) to inform them that they believe their eight-year-old son Jesse is the reincarnation of one of their most respected lamas. Jesse, along with his father, is given the opportunity to accompany the monks on an extraordinary journey. They travel not only to a vastly different world but also back in time two thousand five hundred years to the dawn of Buddhism. As Jesse’s mother reads him the stories of this era, the colourful and magical court of Prince Siddhartha (Keanu Reeves, The Matrix, A Scanner Darkly, Speed) is brought alive by all the remarkable experiences that would lead to his personification as the Buddha. Little Buddha is a fable for the child in us all, and opens a window to the West on the unique experience of Buddhism.
Released for the first time on UK DVD, this edition features an exclusive interview with producer Jeremy Thomas, a “making of” featurette and the original trailer. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with stereo sound.
