Khánh thành chùa Việt Nam ở Nepal.

New Delhi (VNA) - Một buổi lễ khánh thành ngôi chùa Viet Nam đã được tổ chức tại Lâm Tỳ Ni, Nepal hôm 17 tháng 12 tức là ngày 17 tháng 11 Phật Lịch 2549.
Buổi lễ có sự tham dự của chư Tôn Ðức các hệ phái Phật giáo từ Nepal, Trung Quốc, Thái Lan, Miến Ðiện, Nhật Bản, và Hàn Quốc tại đất Phật Lâm Tỳ Ni. Ðại diện của chính phủ hai nước và bộ du lịch Nepal cũng có mặt trong buổi lễ.
Trong bài diễn văn trước hội chúng tham dư buổi lễ, Thầy Thích Huyền Diệu, một đại biểu của Hiệp Hội Phật Giáo Quốc Tế, đã nhắc lại công trình xây dựng ngôi chùa Việt Nam trong 12 năm qua. Thầy cũng diễn tả sự biết ơn đến các Phật tử trên khắp thế giới về sự yểm trợ tinh thần cũng như vật chất trong việc xây dựng ngôi chùa Việt Nam.
Sau đó trong ngày, chùa đã bố thí y phục và thực phẩm đến cho cư dân nghèo khó quanh vùng.
Chùa Việt Nam, cùng với những ngôi chùa Phật Giáo Á Châu khác tại đất Phật , nơi Ðức Phật Thích Ca Mâu Ni đản sinh, được dự trù góp phần phát triển hạ tầng cơ sở và cải thiện mức sống của dân chúng vùng Lâm Tỳ Ni qua lãnh vực du lịch.

New Delhi (VNA) - A ceremony to inaugurate the Viet Nam Pagoda was held in Lumbini, Nepal, on December 17, or the 17th of the 11th month of 2549 on the Buddhist calendar.
The ceremony was attended by Buddhist dignitaries from pagodas of Nepal, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, and the Republic of Korea in Lumbini Buddhist land. Representatives of the Nepalese government and the tourism ministry were also on hand.
Vietnamese Minister-Counsellor in India Ton Sinh Thanh, on behalf of the Government Religion Committee, presented a basket of flowers to the Viet Nam Pagoda's executive board.
Addressing the function, Most Venerable Thich Huyen Dieu, a representative of the International Buddhism Association, reminisced about the construction of the Viet Nam Pagoda over the past 12 years. He also expressed gratitude to Buddhists around the world for their spiritual and material assistance to building the Viet Nam Pagoda.
Later that day, the Pagoda distributed clothing and food to poor people of the area around the Pagoda.
The Viet Nam Pagoda, together with other Asian Buddhist pagodas in the Buddhist land, birthplace of Buddha Sakiamuni, is expected to contribute to developing infrastructure and improving people's living conditions in Lumbini through tourism.--Enditem
