Liên Hoan Phim Ảnh Phật Giáo tại Ấn Ðộ

New Delhi – Năm 2006 đánh dấu ngày sinh lần thứ 2550 của Ðức Phật và Liên Hoan Phim Ảnh Á Châu Osian’s-Cinefan lần thứ 8 được tổ chức để chào mừng sự kiện trên bằng chương trình trình chiếu những cuốn phim về cuộc đời của Ngài.
Vào ngày 14 tháng 07, Phim “Valley Of Flowers- Thung Lũng Ngàn Hoa” của đạo diễn Pan Nalin’s với các diễn viên Naseeruddin Shah và Milind Soman sẽ mở đầu khai mạc liên hoan phim ảnh nhằm mục đích bồi dưỡng những quan hệ của các nên văn hóa khác nhau trong nước để cải thiện phẩm chất của ngành điện ảnh Ấn Ðộ.
Phim ảnh Ấn Ðộ không chiếm được một phần trăm khán giả trên thị trường phim ảnh thế giới. Ấn Ðộ đã không nuôi dưỡng các mấu chốt nối kết những nền văn hóa khác nhau, đó là lý do vì sao thị trường phim ảnh Ấn Ðộ quá yếu kém. Ít nhất những bộ óc tài ba của tất cả các nền văn hóa họp lại với nhau chúng ta không thể không làm nên được các phim ảnh giá trị. Naville Tuli đã nói như trên trong một cuộc họp báo.
Các bộ phim về ÐứcPhật được trình chiếu gồm có “ Siddharth”, “Angry Monk – Reflections On Tibet”, “Little Buddha”, “ The Last Monk” và “The Sandstorm”.
Liên hoan phim ảnh không chỉ thuần túy là phim ảnh, nó còn cung cấp một cơ hội mổ xẻ để thảo luận về tương lai của điện ảnh Ấn Ðộ, ví dụ việc gì sẽ xảy ra cho ngành điện ảnh đại vĩ tuyến và chúng ta nên làm những gì để cải thiện, Ông Aruna Vasudev, người sáng lập công ty Cinemaya nói như trên.
Lễ hội liên hoan phim ảnh kéo dài 10 ngày sẽ trình chiếu khoảng 125 cuốn phim từ 40 quốc gia mô tả các nền văn hóa đa dạng xuyên suốt Á Châu. Bên cạnh đó, một số công trình giá trị nhất của điện ảnh Á rập cũng sẽ được trình chiếu.

New Delhi - The year 2006 marks the 2,550th birth anniversary of the Buddha and Osian’s-Cinefan 8th Festival Asian Cinema is set to celebrate that by screening films showing his life.
On July 14, Pan Nalin’s ‘Valley Of Flowers’ starring Naseeruddin Shah and Milind Soman will kick-start the festival that aims at nurturing the links between different cultural groups in the country to improve the quality of Indian cinema.
‘Indian films don’t have even one percent of share in the world film market. India has not nurtured all the links that join different cultures together, that’s why the Indian film market is so weak. Unless fine minds of all cultures come together we can’t make good cinema,’ said Neville Tuli at a press conference here Wednesday.
Films to be screened on the Buddha are ‘Siddharth’, ‘Angry Monk - Reflections On Tibet’, ‘Little Buddha’, ‘The Last Monk’ and ‘The Sandstorm’.
‘The festival is not only about films, it also provides an opportunity to film buffs to discuss the future of Indian cinema - for example what happened to parallel cinema - and what all we should do to improve it,’ said Aruna Vasudev, the founder of Cinemaya.
The 10-day-long festival will showcase around 125 films from 40 countries depicting diverse cultures spread across Asia. Apart from that some of the best works of Arab cinema will also be screened.
This year 11 films, including Onir’s ‘Bas Ek Pal’, Santosh Sivan’s ‘Eternally Secure’ and Girish Kasaravalli’s ‘In the Shadow Of The Dog’, have been selected for the Indian Competition section.
In the Tribute section, the spotlight will be on Ritwik Ghatak and Stanley Kwan.
