<<>>chùa Rạch Sỏi ỏ Kiên Giang Kiên Giang, Việt nam – Đã có đến 400 Phật tử từ 72 chùa Cam Bốt ở miền nam tỉnh Kiên Giang dự đợt khảo hạch cuối tại chùa Rạch Sỏi vào ngày 21 tháng Hai, 2005.
Các Phật tử được khảo hạch về ngôn ngữ Pali, Kinh điển, Phật Pháp và Giới cấm, và ngôn ngữ Cam Bốt.
Cuộc khảo hạch hàng năm có mục đích tìm kiếm những Phật tử có tài năng để thừa hưởng giá trị của Phật Giáo và duy trì sự đồng nhất của văn hóa quốc gia.
Cùng ngày 21 tháng Hai, Chùa Rạch Sỏi cũng đã khánh thành một thư viện Phật Giáo là thư viện đầu tiên của Đạo Phật trong tỉnh này. Thư viện này hiện có hàng trăm cuốn sách về Đạo Phật.
Một ngân quỹ gần 10 triệu đồng Việt nam cũng đã quyên góp được trong buổi lễ khánh thành này để giúp đỡ nạn nhân sóng thần Tsunami ở các nước Nam Á và Đông Nam Á. (tinhtan dịch)
Southern province's Buddhists take final religious exams VNA, Feb 22, 2005 Kien Giang, Vietnam -- As many as 400 Buddhists from 72 Khmer pagodas in the southern province of Kien Giang took final exams at the Rach Soi pagoda on Feb. 21. They were tested on the Pali, Buddhist sutras, Buddhist theory and forbiddances, and the Khmer language.The annual examination is aimed at seeking out Buddhist talents to inherit Buddhism values and maintain the nation's cultural identity.The same day, the Rach Soi pagoda inaugurated a Buddhist library, the first of its kind in Kien Giang province. Hundreds of Buddhist books are available at the library.A fund of nearly 10 million VND was raised at the inauguratory ceremony to support tsumami victims in South Asian and Southeast Asian countries.
