Jammu, Kashmir (India) April 24, 2006 -- Chính phủ TrungƯơng Ấn Ðộ đã chuẩn chi 90.14 triệu đồng Rupee tức là khoảng2.12 triệu USD cho Học Viện Phật Gíao TrungƯơng ở Ladak cho tài khoản năm nay.
Ngân khỏan sẽ được tháo khoán cho học viện trong hình thức yểm trợ tài chánh dưới đồ án Kế Hoạch và Phi Kế Hoạch. Trong tài khoản năm ngóai, chính phủ trung ương đã tháo khoán con số 45 triệu Rupee với danh nghĩa yểm trợ tài chánh đến cho học viện.
Học Viện Nghiên Cứu Phật Giáo Trung Ương, Leh-Ladakh, Vốn là Trường Triết Học Phật Giáo trước kia, được thành lập năm 1959 theo chỉ thị của Ngài Pandịt Jawaharlal Nerhu với sự hợp tác của Lama Rev. Kushok Bakula Rinpoche.
Nó được đăng ký dưới danh nghĩa J&K Societies và về sau được sáp nhập với Ðại Học Sampurananand Sankrist , Varanasi, UP. Bộ Văn Hóa , Chính phủ Ấn Ðộ đã yểm trợ cho học viện này kể từ năm 1962
Mục đích chính của Học Viện là khắc ghi vào tâm tưởng sinh viên trí tuệ của tư tưởng và văn chương Phật Giáo, cũng như làm cho sinh viên quen thuộc với những đề tài hiện đại, phiên dịch và xuất bản những bộ kinh hiếm hoi quý giá và những công trình thích đáng với nghiên cứu Phật Giáo. Học Viện truyền đạt học thuật trong tất cả mọi lãnh vực thuộc về nghiên cứu Phật Gíao đến cho các lama trẻ và tất cả những sinh viên nào quan tâm đến vấn đề này.

Jammu, Kashmir (India) -- The Indian Central govenrment has made an allocation of Rs.9.14 crore (US$ 2.12 mil) for Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Ladakh for the current financial year.
The amount will be released to the Institute in the form of financial assistance under Plan and Non-Plan Scheme. During the last financial year, the central government had released an amount of Rs.4.50 crore (US$ 1.1 mil) as financial assistance to the Institute.
The Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh-Ladakh, formerly known as School of Buddhist Philosophy, was established at the behest of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1959 with the active co-operation of Rev.Kushok Bakula Rinpoche.
It was registered under the J&K Societies Registration Act-VI,1998(1941) and was later affiliated to the Sampurananand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, UP. The department of Culture, Government of India has been financing this Institute since 1962.
The main objective of the Institute is to inculcate in its students the wisdom of Buddhist thoughts and literature, as also to familiarize them with modern subjects, translations and publications of rare manuscripts and other research work relevant to Buddhist studies. The Institute imparts education in all spheres of Buddhist studies to young lamas and other interested students.
